State of the Cinema – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Summers are upon us, and that means it’s time to break the bank and head out to your favorite movie theatres! While 2017 has had its share of ups and downs as far as film releases go, we are very much glad to finally get have Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. After all, we have nothing but fond memories from the first installment in the series, and that was almost 3 years ago!

The series wizzard/director James Gunn has gone out of his way to ensure that everyone’s favorite anti-hero super squad looks better than ever while doing what they do best – causing mayhem…for peace. Building on the action, humor and of course, nostalgic overdose we all came to adore, this sequel serves as an extravagant and witty follow-up. Whether you are in it for the gorgeous visual effects, or the smartly written screenplay (which can bring out all the feels), it’s safe to say the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has something for everyone.

Feel The Feels

We find our heroes in the not-so-distant future from the events of the first installment – not any older, and certainly not much wiser. The dysfunctional dynamics of Peter Quill (aka Star Lord) and his team are back in full swing, making for some hilarious and heartfelt moments in the process. Seeing the old cast of characters return in full form is a delightful sight. Also, there’s nothing quite as adorable as Baby Groot on the big screen as far as we are aware of.

Experience Visual Flawlessness

Like it’s predecessor, Vol.2 makes use of some of the most stunning visuals of it’s time – and there is no better way to experience these visuals besides going full 3-D. The level of detail present in the background, combined with near-perfect character models make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 a treat for the eyes.

Go Back In Time

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has the ability to feed us nostalgia like chocolate spread – you can literally taste the 70’s through the music and pop-cultural references embedded throughout the movie. While these references exist to give us a glimpse into “Star Lord’s” childhood and earlier years, we can all hop aboard an epic time-capsule fueled by some of the most iconic tunes from that time period.

So grab your 3-D glasses and make a run for the nearest cinema – trust us, this is not something that you would want to pass off to a laptop or television screen!
